Sometimes inspiration begins with a color. From that first spark, textures, shapes, and materials come together to create a story. Krasnaya emerged in this way, growing around the deep presence of red and the sense of mystery it carries.

The design of this doll is inspired by traditional Slavic folk dolls. The torn edges of the fabric symbolize a connection to the Earth, honoring natural cycles, imperfection, and the passage of time.

I often use a mirror in place of a face. For me, the mirror represents projection—it invites the viewer to see their own emotions, memories, and experiences reflected in the work.

Krasnaya embodies a strong female presence, a guardian figure who protects the space around her. She stands between the visible and invisible worlds, holding a quiet strength that is both nurturing and powerful.
